    This is a pilot study aimed at evaluating the practicality of measuring blood lactate levels in patients with major trauma injuries before arriving at the Emergency Department at QMC using the Accutred Plus Monitor. The pre-hospital lactate will be evaluated as a determinant of resuscitation level, injury severity and outcome of the patients. It will also be compared with other measures as a determinant of these outcomes.
