Research summary
Pregnant women are at risk of illnesses which can be prevented by vaccines. Women are now offered COVID-19 influenza, pertussis and RSV in addition to covid vaccines. Many women do not have vaccines during their pregnancy. NHS England is making vaccines in pregnancy a priority. We would like to co-create a service at Liverpool Women's Hospital that meets the needs of our population. Alongside this, we would like to understand the barriers and facilitators to maternal vaccination uptake in Liverpool and more broadly. To do this we will map our local services, hold focus groups or interviews with women and health providers alongside undertaking a survey of health professionals attitudes to vaccinations.
