Research summary
The purpose of this research is to understand how asthma varies from person to person and monitor changes that may occur over time, by looking at different causes, symptoms, triggers and how inflammation of the lungs may affect respiratory health in the long term. The initial study is planned to enrol up to at least 235 adult male and female participants aged 18+. Participants will take part in the study over 60month following their enrolment into the study. Participants will be invited to attend yearly follow-up visits at our hVIVO clinics as well as planned at home self-assessments.
Some participants may also be invited to participate in sub-studies where further assessments will be required. This will remain optional and require a new Participant Information Sheet and Informed Consent Form to be agreed upon and signed by both the Study Doctor and Participant. All Sub-studies will require protocol amendments and will be submitted for subsequent approvals.
In addition, optional genetic sampling has also been incorporated in the Participant Information Sheet and Informed Consent Form.
