  • Data collection arrangements

    Samples will be collected from Central Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and University Hospital South Manchester (UHSM).

    Samples collected at CMFT will be stored in the MAHSC CVD-Biobank following consent. Identification, approach and consent of participants will be by the surgeon/clinician.

    Samples collected at UHSM will be temporarily stored at UHSM following consent prior to transfer to the MAHSC CVD-Biobank. Identification, approach and consent of participants will be obtained by the surgeon/clinician.

  • Research programme

    The Cardiovascular Diseases Biobank will supply samples to researchers working in cardiovascular disease on a ‘project-specific’ basis, tailored to the individual needs of the researcher. The CVD Biobank plays an important role in MAHSC by providing high quality biomaterials to support the key cardiovascular research themes
