Research summary
Compare the clinical and economic outcomes between the healing rates of venous leg ulcer patients in a single arm cohort utilizing the Leg Ulcer Pathway Acceleration protocol and a propensity matched cohort from a retrospective database of historical care pathways.
The observational study will be run at NHS trusts were the new pathway has been implemented as Standard of Care and will recruit 100 patients at each of Oxford and Cambridge. Retrospective data will be collected from patients who have followed the SOC pathway as well as from a cohort of patients not treated via this pathway (historical) to allow for propensity matching will be drawn from three NHS sites (Oxford, Cambridge and GSTT).REC name
