  • Research summary

This study aims to gain a better understanding of what it means to live with and beyond cancer from the perspective of people who have received treatment for breast, prostate or colorectal cancer at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHT). Information will be gathered through semi-structured interviews and focus groups, undertaken at a ICHT site. Interpretation of the information will result in themes and patterns that describe the lived experience of living with and beyond cancer. This qualitative research approach allows for exploration and gathering of insights to gain a deeper understanding, and will address the lack of existing knowledge within this population at this time. The aim is to recruit 4-6 participants from each cancer group for interviews. Information gathered from each homogeneous sample will be analysed and taken to focus groups (two focus groups per cancer group) to assess similarities and differences in experiences.
