Data collection arrangements
This tissue bank consists of samples and data collected from individuals who have participated in clinical trials managed by the Liverpool Clinical Trials Centre, who have given informed consent for the use of their samples in translational research activity. Samples will become part of the tissue bank when all sample related research
objectives for the original clinical trial have been undertaken. The samples and data available fall under six core cancer groups: hepato-pancreato-biliary, uveal melanoma, breast, head & neck and lung cancers and haemato-oncology. Samples will be stored in the GCPLab Facility at the University of Liverpool.
Research programme
Samples will be made available to researchers affiliated to a recognised academic institution or NHS organisation or a commercial research organisation with experience in cancer research. Samples will only be used within the fields of medical or biomedical research within their first five years in the bank; following this, access criteria will be relaxed, although always complying with the initial patient consent - as outlined in the Access Policy. Priority will be given to those researchers undertaking research in the field of cancer research of the relevant specialty.
