Data collection arrangements
The Tissue is stored in the centralised institute facility on the third floor of the William Henry Duncan (WHD) Building (room 320, Freezer room 2). All paperwork (consent forms) are stored in a locked filing cabinet in room 1/022, 1st floor WHD Bldg. Each floor and room in the WHD has swipe card access. A database holding the patient key and clinical information will be held on the University of Liverpool server. The database will be password protected and only be available to staff members with NHS research passports and appropriate training. All samples and data leaving the NHS will only be referred to by code. An anonymised version of the database on the research departments shared drive (access is limited to users with appropriate HTA and GCP training, as well as familiarity with any and all SOPs pertaining to proper use of the biobank)
Research programme
The Liverpool Blood Diseases Biobank (LBDB) is a Research Tissue Bank (RTB) set up to facilitate the research within the University of Liverpool (UoL) and primarily with Haemato-oncology researchers and their collaborators. The aim of the LBDB is to store a range of samples from patients with blood cancer to further research within this area, or to further enhance the knowledge of the biology of cancer.
