Research summary
Bronchiectasis is a progressive respiratory disease characterised by chronic daily sputum production, cough, shortness of breath, and recurrent respiratory infections. We know from our patients that often these symptoms have a significant impact on daily life and quality of life; in some cases necessitating significant lifestyle changes in order to manage and control disease burden. We also know that there are a host of other medical conditions such as autoimmune conditions that are associated with bronchiectasis and we appreciate that treatments for bronchiectasis can cause further impact on patients bodies.
