Research summary
Acute leukaemia is a blood cancer whereby blasts (immature cells) are produced in excess. In the presence of these blasts healthy immune cells appear to be inhibited. We would like to investigate the mechanisms by which this happens in order to be able to better understand the processes and hopefully develop appropriate treatment strategies.
