Research summary
To see how long patients undergoing common elective ENT day case procedures takes off work before returning, and to see whether this time period is influenced by the nature of their employment.
The study should help to give us an observed guide to the average amount of time patients do in reality take off after some common procedures. This will be useful for patients to know as well as the surgeons proposing the surgery. As there is no current consensus or guidance in regards to this area, surgeons can use the information generated from this study to correctly advise their patients of time required off work following their procedure.
