Research summary
The LEGACY01 study is a clinical study in 30 healthy volunteers who will donate cells, sampled from their lymph nodes, both before and after receipt of a seasonal influenza vaccine. Lymph nodes are an important site of immune responses to vaccination, and the researchers wish to assess the effects of vaccination on the activity of lymph node cells. The participants in the study will be of African or Asian ancestry, and the results will add to the data contributed by groups which have previously often been under-represented. The results will be useful in guiding the development of new vaccines which prevent human diseases.
