Research summary
Lanarkshire Alcohol and Drug Partnership (ADP) has commissioned this research to gain a greater insight into adults experiencing problematic drug and alcohol use who are not currently accessing treatment or support services. The ultimate goals of the research are to reduce barriers to treatment and to minimise the harm caused by alcohol and drugs to individuals and communities in Lanarkshire.
The main aims of the research are:
- To determine why those living in Lanarkshire who use alcohol and drugs at problematic levels do not access statutory or voluntary treatment services and/or mutual aid groups.
- To understand why those who make initial steps to access a service then fail to attend.
- To understand what could be done to alleviate barriers to access treatment and services.REC name
