Data collection arrangements
Collection, storage and use for research of blood and its components, including DNA and other genetic material, obtained from blood sampled for this purpose. Storage and use for research of liver or other tissues, urine, stool and bile obtained from samples taken as part of standard medical care. Data stored including demographic detail and medical information, to be released for research use only in a fully de-identified form. Full written and informed consent for collection and use to be taken by staff specifically trained for this activity.
Research programme
In the establishment of the Biobank we plan to continue to develop a non−profit resource both for internal use and for the international medical research community. We aim to support a wide variety of high quality, peer−reviewed studies in healthcare with samples processed and stored to high specification and linked with validated de-identified clinical data.
