Research summary
This study plans to investigate whether it is possible to collect data from multiple methods of brain monitoring after cardiac arrest in children and use them to predict future outcome. Currently, doctors are uncertain which monitoring to use to detect brain injury after cardiac arrest and how to combine all available information. We plan to collect information about longer term recovery from the parents/guardians of brain injured children using an interview over the phone. We will then analyse and identify the optimal combination of monitoring techniques/tests associated with the observed long term functional outcomes.
