Research summary
The purpose of the study is to assess the feasibility of using the Insansys PSE to monitor patients following surgery, to evaluate the acceptability of the Isansys PSE to patients and staff, and to gather preliminary data to inform future study investigating the effectiveness of continuous wireless monitoring in comparison to standard practice.
20 elective post-surgery general and colorectal patients at James Cook University Hospital will be included as study participants. The participants will be followed-up from post-operative transfer to ward to discharge from hospital. Following two-months of data collection, there will be one month for data collation and analysis.
