Research summary
An epithelioid granuloma is a characteristic finding in the tissue samples taken during endoscopy in patients with Crohn's disease. We are looking to see if granulomas are more likely to be found when there are no active signs of inflammation in the tissue and whether they correlate with clinical activity of the disease and the macroscopic endoscopy findings.
The pathology reports, clinical data, and endoscopy reports of patients who were under the care of the gastroenterology department in Sheffield Children's Hospital between 2009 and 2019 will be reviewed and the extracted data will be analysed.REC name
