  • Research summary

The primary objective of this research is to develop tests to identify and or confirm which caused a drug hypersensitivity reaction after the event. Although we have already developed and regularly use cytokine production for diagnostic tests, this is expensive and complex. therefore we aim to develop assays based upon measurement of gene transcription instead. The primary reason for this is that a PCR based approach is more amenable to use in routine NHS diagnostic laboratories.
