Research summary
The aim of this study is to investigate the role of the protein IL-33 in human blood vessels. IL-33 is involved in the development of cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases and previous animal and human studies suggest that IL-33 may play a role in regulating vascular tone and permeability, with consequences for vascular health.
Will use wire myography to assess the effect IL-33 has on vascular tone and permeability of resistance/pulmonary vessels.
