Research summary
Due to the complexities of participant attrition and the potential health and economic gains from improving participant retention in weight management services this project aims to understand the reasons for attrition and use this information to design, prototype and test digital services with the aim to improve participant retention rates.
Eligible participants will be individuals present with obesity and its associated comorbidities, who have attended at least one NHS obesity intervention and given consent to be contacted following treatment. Participants will engage in semi-structured interviews set in hospitals or health care centres within NHS sites in the Aneurin Bevan Health board, such as outpatient clinic rooms, and the interview stage aims to conclude within 2 months.
