  • Research summary

The University of Plymouth’s nursing students study ‘Digital Professionalism’ as part of their curriculum, commencing their journey to becoming an e-nurse. This study explores the feasibility of implementing a citizen contact model to enhance the use of Internet for health, and providing an opportunity for child nursing students to understand citizen contacts in their social context. Citizen contacts are parents/carers with a child/young person aged (0-17 years) living with a long-term health condition, and the young person themselves if aged above 13. If the young person is aged 13 or above the parent/carer is asked to support the young person in taking part in the study. A collaborative action research approach has been applied, working with students, academics, health professionals and the public to develop this study.
