  The samples are stored in -20C freezers with remote alarms and are part of the RBHospital Biobank.

  All archived samples have documented informed prior consent.

• Research programme

  The Biobank is supported by and used by the Marfan Trust. Stored archived samples are used in our research programme aimed at discovering causative genes for TAAD (Thoracic Aortic Aneurysms and Dissections), Ectopia Lentis, Scoliosis, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, and other inherited connective tissue disorders which overlap clinically with Marfan syndrome.
