  • Research summary

This trial will study the effects of providing different types of cardiovascular risk information and lifestyle advice on health-related behaviour change(for example, physical activity, diet and smoking).

Data sharing with the INTERVAL trial allows the burden of questionnaires and physical activity monitoring to be reduced as participants do not have to provide these data again.

The online intervention is comprised of cardiovascular risk information (in some trial groups) and a lifestyle advice program individually tailored according to data provided by participants. These lifestyle sessions are delivered at monthly intervals (week 0, 4, 8) and are approximately 30-60 minutes in duration.

Participants allocated to groups that are not provided with lifestyle information and/or their phenotypic risk and/or their genetic risk during the study will receive this information at the end of their involvement. All participants will also receive their post-intervention phenotypic risk score at the end of the study.
