Research summary
This research will independently evaluate the ‘Health Pathfinder’ Project in eight ‘Pathfinder’ Sites (in acute hospital trusts, mental health trusts and community-based IRIS programmes in GP Practices). The ‘Health Pathfinder’ Project is led by SafeLives and a consortium of partners (Against Violence and Abuse (AVA), Imkaan, IRISi, and Standing Together Against Domestic Violence (STADV)). It aims to recommend comprehensive health practice and a model response in relation to domestic abuse and wider issues related to Violence Against Women & Girls.
This research, funded by the ‘Health Pathfinder’ Project, will assess the effectiveness of the interventions by evaluating overall change created, and the barriers and facilitators of implementation. It will also assess the overall systemic change in referral pathways. The evaluation brings together 4 inter-related work packages:
1 – Co-development of a logic model with clinicians and survivors
2 – Process evaluation
3 - Impact evaluation of interventions
4 - Economic evaluation of interventionsThe evaluation team is located across three units at Cardiff University: the Centre for Development and Evaluation of Complex Interventions for Public Health Improvement (DECIPHer), the Centre for Trials Research, and the School of Social Sciences.
