Research summary
The objective of this study is to investigate the potential of a new ultrasound device to accelerate the breakdown of blood clots. This has applications across a range of cardiovascular diseases, for instance deep vein thrombosis.
In order to study clot breakdown, it is necessary to prepare blood clots. This will be done using expired blood samples from a local blood bank.
All experiments will be conducted in vitro. They will be carried out in an academic laboratory at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Oxford.REC name
