  • Data collection arrangements

Samples of teeth will be stored. There will be no personal or clinical data associated with them. They will be donated by patients having the teeth extracted for reasons unrelated to the research study. They will be asked to sign a consent form saying that they have donated their extracted teeth to the bank, and that their teeth cannot be traced subsequently. They will therefore be unable to remove their consent.

  • Research programme

The extracted teeth will be stored in a disinfectant solution, labelled with a specimen number and stored in a locked room. Signing in and out arrangements for the room key are in place for authorized personnel only.
