  • Research summary

Recently there has been an increase in identifying and diagnosing dementia at the earliest opportunity. However evidence indicating problems with how a dementia diagnosis is disclosed combined with limited guidance resulted in an intervention been developed. The intervention has been developed by incorporating patients, companions and clinicians views around dementia disclosure and the present feasibility study is aiming to evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention. This will involve collecting both quantitative and qualitative data from two separate memory assessment clinics; the first clinic will continue with care as usual and the second clinic will utilise the intervention tool.
