Research summary
The aim of this project is to develop a easy to use device to collect biological samples from patients, wound fluid, to allow more convenient and robust collection of these samples in a variety of clinical settings.
15 patients with healing wounds and 15 with non-healing wounds, as classified by subjective assessment of the clinician, who are 18 or over and non-diabetic with an suitable wound will be recruited and fluid from their wound will be collected by placing wound fluid paper on their wound surface until it becomes saturated in wound fluid.
This is to full extent of patient participation in the study.
The fluid collected will be anonomysed and sent to the laboratory for analysis and all tissue samples will be destroyed by the laboratory in line with their HTA licence once all required analysis for the study have been completed.REC name
