  • Data collection arrangements

IHKB will recruit willing patients attending Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and interested participants who reside in the North-West London Community via electronic consent. For participants who consent to IHKB, we will collect and store blood samples, routine clinical health data and re-contact them about research studies that are relevant to them. The blood samples will be stored long term in an off-site laboratory, UK Biostores & Services Limited. Patient's will not need to make a separate visit to hospital for blood sampling will take place at their next routine clinical visit, when their clinician requests a routine blood sample. Their data will remain in the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust secure data environment.

  • Research programme

By collecting and storing biological samples and data from a diverse group of patients, diagnosed with various conditions and different stages of disease development IHKB will enable: • Research related to specific disease or group of diseases or could range more widely across biomedicine generally for yet unspecified research questions. • Research into the molecular mechanisms involved in disease development and its response or possible resistance to treatment. • The discovery and validation of new targets and biomarkers for detection, diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
