  This research aims to explore the impact of tooth extractions prior to radiotherapy on the expectations, experiences and understanding of oral health and function among head and neck cancer patients. In order to do this we shall explore in semi structured interviews, participants' understanding of why teeth were extracted, how this relates to their understanding of the care pathway for head and neck oncology and the personal impact of the loss of teeth.
