  • Research summary

In order to help improve clinicians' ability to detect polyps in the bowel (pre-cancerous lesions), it is thought Artifical Intelligence will play a vital role. Early studies have shown computer assisted diagnosis (CAD) can be very accurate, as good as experts. In order to develop AI and CAD further we need to capture images of polyps. Together with the correct histology (when polyp is removed-standard care)we can feed the computer learning software. The more high quality images the better for computer learning. This will help clinicians performing colonoscopy in the future.
