Research summary
We want to see whether there are differences in the urine and blood of patients with ovarian cancer, compared to people who don't have cancer, which we could use to detect cancer earlier when it's easier to treat. We really want to develop a test that doesn't require tumour to be taken or complicated tests so a urine test would be ideal. We are asking patients to donate some urine when they are diagnosed and while they are being treated to see if there is a marker we can use to detect cancer. Just to make sure we have the best chance of finding ovarian cancer early before patients have symptoms, and when it is easier to treat, we also want to look in patient blood for differences between people with ovarian cancer and those without it.
