  • Research summary

Arterial endothelial dysfunction is an indicator of early atherosclerotic changes and can be measured by brachial artery flow-mediated dilatation (FMD). Athletes have been shown to have enhanced cardiac function in comparison with normal subjects; therefore the primary aim of the study is to determine whether elite athletes have an enhanced endothelial function as measured by FMD.
