Research summary
This study is to assess whether a new hybrid imaging technique using images obtained from a coronary CT scan and a stress echo cardiogram can be used in the diagnosis of coronary heart disease. These images provide visualisation of the coronary arteries which can show if there are any obstructions and can show indirectly the effect of reduced heart muscle blood supply. The purpose of this study is to assess whether these two image modalities used to diagnose coronary artery stenosis and ischaemia can be merged together and viewed simultaneously to provide more accurate diagnostics than using either of these modalities alone.
