  • Research summary

The project builds on promising early engagement with four NHS Trusts and an ePrescribing system vendor, with the objective of commercialising the first large-scale prescribing data analysis and feedback service that allows hospitals to provide better patient care whilst saving time and money. This analysis and formative feedback tool using hospital ePrescribing data contains dashboards, benchmarking data (to facilitate anonymous comparisons between teams/hospitals) and a dynamic interface. Agile methods (an incremental project management approach to developing tools and products) will be used to build and refine the service offering, and real-time feedback/usage data will be used to help modify and tailor reports. The feedback made available to NHS Trusts will be timely and use near-real-time data from the Trusts.
