  • Research summary

This research involves examination of tumour specimens from archived pancreatic cancer patients for the expression pattern, prognostic significance and predictive value of complete HER family members, IGF-IR and c-MET. We aim to examine 50 tumour specimens from pancreatic cancer patients. We shall investigate the expression pattern and prognostic significance of all members of the EGFR family (EGFR, HER-2, HER-3, HER-4) and putative pancreatic cancer stem cell markers, and a panel of our in-house novel monoclonal antibodies in fixed paraffin embedded tissues from around 50 liver cancer patients using immunohistochemistry. The intensity of staining for the HER family will be recorded as negative, weak, strong and whether it is membranous, cytoplasmic or nuclear staining. The association between these scores and survival will be estimated using Cox survival analysis.
