Research summary
The aim of this research study is to understand and explore how patients and other stakeholders such as carers, family and staff involved in the patients’ circle of care receive information about the transplant service and how the communication of the process can be improved.
The research will primarily inform the development of the digital information resource (website) which is being undertaken by staff at Northumbria University in partnership with Enigma Interactive Ltd on behalf of the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Secondarily, this largely qualitative research will contribute findings that will be written up in research papers and articles about the design and development of digital patient information resources.
There are various ways in which participants might choose to be involved from being interviewed, user testing the new website or giving reflective feedback on their experience of using the resource whilst going through the transplant process.
