Research summary
The function of cerebral (brain) arteries is to supply oxygenated blood to the brain. A recently discovered role for the cerebral arterial wall is that for lymphatic drainage of cerebral interstitial fluid. This study will investigate the brain blood flow to to see whether we can detect that added role of the cerebral arteries using patients undergoing cardiothoracic surgery.
