Research summary
The overall goal of this research study is to create a tool which will allow a patient to provide an ECG remotely from home (or a local health centre) to be analysed centrally. The results will then be communicated back to the local healthcare team and the patient, allowing real-time monitoring and timely identification of any changes in their cardiac condition. This would either lead to scheduling an earlier appointment or allow for delaying an appointment if the patient feels well and their re-processed ECG shows no disease progression.
It seeks to provide an easy way to monitor patients remotely, reducing their burden and easing pressure on NHS diagnostic services.
This study aims to identify patients with heart failure, including those with current diagnosis, or establishing new diagnosis in patients with symptoms or risk factors.
Feedback will be gathered regarding the burdens associated with current diagnostic and management procedures for heart failure with the aim of improving the design of a disease monitoring tool. Also, the patients may be updated on the latest heart failure clinical research opportunities.REC name
