Research summary
This small-scale qualitative study will explore what health promotion advice is implemented successfully by carers of patients attending the NHS Fife Down Syndrome general health screening clinic. Both paid carers (support workers) and family carers will be interviewed to explore the facilitators and barriers to implementing health promotion advice. Data will be transcribed and analysed using thematic analysis to identify the main challenges faced by carers of adults with Down Syndrome.
