Research summary
This study will take place alongside the HATRIC trial, which aims to see whether it is possible to conduct a trial of a herbal medicine (Pelargonium sidoides) as an alternative to antibiotics for adult patients with bronchitis. We will interview participants in this trial, as well as people who were invited but declined to participate, and GPs involved in recruiting patients to the trial. We would like to gain feedback from people involved in the HATRIC study on their experiences of the study. In particular, we are interested in their views on whether the study process could be improved, and if so how. For those who did not take part in the HATRIC study we are interested to know the reasons why. We would also like to know what interviewees think about the use of delayed prescriptions of antibiotics and herbal medicines for bronchitis.
