Research summary
Pregnant people at risk for, or currently experiencing, antenatal depression will be given access to a mobile application (‘HappyMums App’), which will comprise: (i) reflective exercises and game-like activities (active data collection), (ii) passive data collection, (iii) validated mental health self-report scales with self-monitoring, and (iv) educational modules on pregnancy and mental health. The app is designed to provide a holistic overview of participant mental health throughout pregnancy, and up to 2 months postpartum.
To gather further information on the usefulness of the app, we will also collect traditional research data such as standardised questionnaires and blood and saliva samples, which we will use as comparators.REC name
