  • Research summary

Patients with VITT usually die of blood clots. We will investigate aspects of blood clot formation and clot resolution/lysis in patients with suspected VITT, comparing the findings in patients with established VITT with those in suspected but non-confirmed cases. This restrospective study will be performed on surplus material from samples sent to NHS Grampian for anti-PF4 testing from around Scotland to conclude a diagnosis of VITT based on current criteria. We have a total of 127 samples available to us of which 55 are anti-PF4 positive and 72 are negative for the anti-PF4 test.
