Research summary
This short-term study will involve conducting semi-structured interviews with focus groups of patients and therapists on the Upper Limb Programme at Queen Square. The focus group interviews will consist of discussing patients’ and therapists’ experience with technology in rehabilitation of the upper limb, benefits and drawbacks, and views on their design. The study will involve 2 facilitators, 6-12 patients and 6-12 therapists, with around 4-6 individuals in each focus group. Therefore, it will involve running 4-6 focus group sessions, at one hour each.
This project is part of a PhD student project at the Institute of Neurology, UCL. The benefits of this study will be to gain insight from patients and therapists to develop initial prototypes of an eXtended Reality (XR) tool for rehabilitation of the upper limb post-stroke.
