  • Research summary

This is a feasibility study for a planned larger research project. The project aims to identify risk markers for post-operative deliruim (an acute confusional state) in older people. This study aims to assess the feasibility of achieving specialised research magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans in older people after hip fracture surgery. MRI will be used to assess the structure of the brain and how different parts of the brain connect (talk) to each other - known as functional connectivity.
