  • Research summary

There is confusion with the diagnosis of Spondyloarthritis (SpA) and the prototype of the group Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) in women, particularly as AS is perceived as fibromyalgia (FM) mainly at the early stages. This study aims to determine what proportion of female patients with FM fulfil criteria for
    a) SpAs i.e the new ASAS criteria for Axial SpAs
    b) Inflammatory back pain (IBP)
    c) differences at presentation and main musculoskeletal complaints as well as disease activity and function indices.
