Research summary
1 BACKGROUND
Gamification refers to the “use of game design elements within non-game contexts” (Deterding, Dixon, Khaled & Nacke, 2011). There is a plethora of Literature on Gamification and Mental Health.
Cerebrum Matter has developed a Software called COSMA which includes personalised games that include the pictures of an individual and their family. The COSMA software contains 3 modules – Reminiscence, Meditation and Visual Simulation.
• Reminiscence – Contains puzzle games through the configured family & friends pictures.
• Meditation – Breathing exercise, Focus Meditation and thought meditation
• Visual Simulation – Contains shapes and colour matching games.
Cerebrum Matter aims at improving the well-being of individuals through our gaming software - COSMA. The approach is a scientific pathway to further develop the software and understand the impact of the designed software on individuals through Brainwave patterns and psychological tests. Cerebrum Matter is also looking at other games – Maze Suite and Cricket Simulator to be implemented in practical ways into the COSMA software for further development.REC name
