Research summary
This qualitative study aims to interview 15 male caregivers who provide care to a partner with dementia. The participants will all identify as being from a Black Minority Ethnic (BME) background. Currently, there is limited research available about the experience of male BME caregivers within dementia.
The study will recruit participants from a research register within the Cognitive Impairment Dementia Service (CIDS)based in Hounslow, West London NHS Trust. Participants who agree to participate will be invited to a one hour interview with the lead researcher. Questions will explore their experience of being a caregiver. Following all interviews, the interview data will be transcribed and analysed for any common themes between the interviews.REC name
