Research summary
Between 2015-6 a feasibility study showed that grounded theory methods could identify a pattern in parental decision making regarding care of children with a range of single-sided hearing losses. This proposal is to extend this work into a wider range of parent populations including those in urban areas (Birmingham and Bristol) and those from minority ethnic communities. We intend to extend the data gathering to include families with a wider age range of children to see whether the previous early stage findings apply to a wider sample.
