Research summary
We have designed a document which we hope will help us to deliver patient-centred care called ‘What Matters To You?’ We are looking to explore peoples experiences of using this form and to identify whether this can help us to better understands patient needs and improve their care experience\nWe will identify participants from hospital inpatients who are known to the specialist palliative care team at the hospital. We expect that our study will involve only a small number of patients (around four to eight) however this may change depending on data collected. \nParticipants will be asked to read and complete a form entitled ‘What Matters to You?’. We will then invite them to participate in a interview to answer questions relating to the form in order to explore if, and in what ways, they may have found it useful. We anticipate the interview to last around 30 minutes. The interview will be recorded using an audio recording device. They may have a family member/significant other present if they wish.\nThe content of the interview will them be analysed to establish themes and meaning.
